The Environmental Society was started in 2007 with the intention of creating a sounding board for students and staff to discuss issues and concerns to do with the environment.
This year it was decided to concentrate the society’s efforts on ‘greening up’ the campus and specifically to put pressure on Greenwich University management to show their commitment to the university’s Sustainability Policy by appointing a permanent environmental officer.
One of the most important ways we are aiming to do this is through student pressure. The society is therefore organising a number of fun events to raise awareness of the issue.
Please SIGN THE PETITION for our campaign to get a full-time Environmental Officer appointed at the University of Greenwich!
If you are interested in getting involved in whatever way you can, visit our News and Events blog for regular updates. We would also love to hear your comments on any of the forthcoming events or any of the events you’ve attended.
Lastly, we are very keen to work with other societies who have similar values to ours.
